Subtitle converter
In short: change subtitle files between SRT, WebVTT and ASS — timings and text unchanged, nothing uploaded.
Players and editors each want a different subtitle format. Drop the files, pick the target format, download — a whole folder at once if you need to.
Pick a subtitle file to start.
What changes and what does not
What it does not do
It does not translate, retime or transcribe. It does not fix out-of-sync subtitles — for a constant offset use the subtitle shifter first, then convert. It does not merge, split or download subtitles.
Questions
Which formats can it convert between?
SRT (SubRip), WebVTT and ASS/SSA in any direction: SRT to VTT, VTT to SRT, SRT to ASS, ASS to VTT and so on. It also rewrites a file into the same format when the encoder saved it badly.
Does converting an ASS file to SRT lose the styling?
Yes, and the page tells you before you download: fonts, colours, positioning and karaoke tags only exist in ASS, so converting away from it keeps the text lines and timings only.
Will the line endings and encoding survive?
The line endings (CRLF or LF) and the encoding (UTF-8, UTF-8 with BOM, UTF-16 LE or BE) are kept, so the result opens in the same players and editors as the source.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Drop a whole season at once — up to 10 MB per file and 20 MB in total — and download everything as one ZIP. Each file keeps its own encoding and timings.
Does it translate or retime the subtitles?
No. It only changes the container format; text and timings stay exactly as they were. If the sync is wrong, use the subtitle shifter first to move every line by the same offset, then convert.
Is my subtitle file uploaded?
No. Files are read, converted and zipped in your browser; no request carries their text.
